Heisler Group’s Stars of the Week Canadian Junior Hockey News

Third Stars
Peyton Kelly, Thompson Blazers, British Columbia Major/Minor Midget League: Peyton assisted on his team’s only goal in a 3-1 loss Saturday to the North Island Silvertips. The 2002 forward added another assist in a 7-2 win on Sunday to the Silvertips. After 30 games, Peyton, a native of Kamloops, B.C., is sixth in team scoring with 10 goals and 16 assists.

Alex Engan, Kerry Park Islanders, Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League: The 2000-born first-year VIJHLer scored on in Wednesday’s 3-2 shootout win over the Westshore Wolves. It was the forward’s second goal in as many games and the third straight game in which he recorded a point.

Jacob Vautour, Kamloops Storm, Kootenay International Junior Hockey League: Jacob, playing for his hometown team, helped get the Storm back in Friday’s game with assist on Kamloop’s first goal in a 5-2 loss to the Princeton Posse. In 41 games, the forward has 13 points, good for seventh on the team.

Second Stars
Seth Cotler, Florida Jr. Blades, United States Premier Hockey League-Elite: Seth, a 2002 center, had three assists in two weekend games. He’s fourth on the team in scoring, having put up six goals and 15 assists in 38 games.

Marquez Ginger, Willmar WarHawks, North American 3 Hockey League: Marquez, back in Willmar after playing seven games with the Brookings Blizzard of the North American Hockey League, figured in both of the WarHawks’ goals in Friday’s 5-2 loss to New Ulm Steel. The 1999 forward from Georgia has five goals and seven assists in 14 games for Willmar.

First Star
Matty Moran, Granite City Lumberjacks, NA3HL: Matty scored a pair of goals Saturday, including the game winner, against the North Iowa Bulls. The 1998 forward from nearby Sartell, Minn., now has seven goals and a pair of assists in 14 games for the Lumberjacks.
